Bitumen Shingles and EPDM Roofing

Often when buying a garden shed, storage shed, or summer house, the question arises of what type of roofing material to choose, why one type of roofing is better than another, and in what situations?

When choosing roofing material, it is important to consider the following key factors:

  • Price
  • Lifespan
  • Maintenance
  • Suitability for the specific roof structure
  • Aesthetic appearance
  • Compatibility with existing structures

The most popular and commonly recommended roofing material for garden sheds and summer houses is bitumen shingles. It is an optimal solution due to its price, technical properties, and aesthetic appeal. Bitumen shingles come in various colors, making them adaptable to existing roof structures or the planned exterior color of the building. We offer the purchase of roofing material in 5 popular colors: green, red, brown, gray, and black. If you purchase roofing material from us, it will be delivered together with the shed.

Furthermore, to meet the manufacturer's technical requirements for installing bitumen roofing, we strongly recommend a special underlayment for bitumen shingles installation. This underlayment is laid before installing the shingles and is necessary to properly install the roofing and protect the roof. Proper roof installation is considered only when using underlayment, and only then is a warranty provided. If you plan to purchase bitumen shingles from us along with the shed, we can also provide you with the underlayment.

Sometimes, it is technically impossible to cover the roof with bitumen shingles (if the roof slope is insufficient). In such cases, the most reliable solution is EPDM roofing. This solution is most suitable when constructing a flat or single-pitched roof, where the roof slope is less than 7 degrees. EPDM roofing is one of the best solutions for flat roofs, providing excellent protection against moisture ingress. Although this solution is more expensive than bitumen shingles or other roll roofing materials, its reliability has been proven over many years.

To simplify the process of choosing roofing material for sheds, we offer what we believe are the best and most reliable options.
